Richard Rozze Organ Trio

Mostly playing standards, the Trio features  Trevor Tomkins (drums) and,  Bill Mudge (Organ)

Inspired by the music of artists such John Abercrombie and Richie Bierach this new Quintet are in the studio soon with dates next year.

Paul Booth

Having released four solo albums to date, Paul Booth has firmly established himself as an in demand solo artist, as well as a ‘first call’ sideman for many big names in both jazz and popular music worlds.

In his early years, whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music, he won many awards including the prestigious Clifford Brown/Stan Getz fellowship held in Miami, “The Best Modern Jazz Player” category in the televised “Young Jazz Player of the Year” competition and many more.

His ability to blend into any musical surrounding coupled with his talents as a multi-instrumentalist has seen him work with a variety of well-known artists. Paul is currently in the Steve Winwood band, can be seen touring with the BBC Big Band, Michael Janisch Quintet, Ryan Quigley Quinet and has performed worldwide with the likes of Carlos Santana, Steely Dan, Eric Clapton,The Allman Brothers, Riverdance, Basia, Ingrid Jensen, Matt Bianco, Eddie Henderson, Alex Wilson, Roberto Pla, Snowboy, Ray Gelato, Jane Monheit and many more.

John Horler (piano)

He has been the lynchpin of Cleo Laine and John Dankworth’s band since the early 1980s, and has appeared with Zoot Sims, Barbara Streisand, Placido Domingo, Paul Tortelier, Mel Tormé, Chet Baker, Pepper Adams, Kenny Wheeler, Elton John, the London Symphony and London Philharmonic Orchestras and the BBC Big Band. John was a featured member of alto saxophonist Peter King’s quartet for many years, and has worked extensively with reeds legend Tony Coe. In 1992, John was honoured as an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. He was voted ‘Jazz Pianist of the Year’ by the critics at the 2002 British Jazz Awards. The Belfast Telegraph said of John’s playing: “his musical pedigree shone through with complete mastery of the keyboard, rhythmic elegance and dynamic skills always a feature.”

Trevor Tomkins (drums)

Trevor Tomkins (b. 1941) is a highly respected drummer, and Proffessor/teacher of Jazz drums and improvisation at the Guildhall. He has worked and recorded with a number of British bands including Michael Garrick’s, the Rendell/Carr Quintet, Barbara Thompson’s Jubiaba, Henry Lowther’s Quarternity and Ian Carr’s Nucleus.He has worked at Ronnie Scott’s and played with US ‘giants’ Phil Woods,Art Farmer and Sonny Stitt amongst many others.

Tim Wells (double bass)

Born in Baltimore USA in 1951. Sam Rivers, Kenny Wheeler, Charles McPherson, Norma Winstone, Henry Lowther, Tim Garland, Pete Hurt, and has made recordings and radio broadcasts with these musicians and with his own quartet for which he composes the music. A member of the Jon Lloyd Quartet he has appeared at many of the major jazz festivals across Europe.

Jo Doolan Group

Jo Doolan is an award winning vocalist and active on the London Jazz scene . Jo Doolan’s debut album ‘Dream of a Dream’ fuses compositions that have shaped her life, with her love of jazz. Guitarist and composer Richard Rozze has created some stunning arrangements of songs by artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Chris Isaak, Stevie Wonder to which Jo Doolan brings her unique interpretation through captivating vocal performances.
